Matthew Gourlay received a J.D. From the University of Toronto. Among several other academic distinctions, he was the gold medalist of his graduating class. He was also the senior editor of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review.
Prior to joining Henein and Associates, Matthew clerked for Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin at the Supreme Court of Canada from September 2008 to December 2009. During his time at the Supreme Court of Canada, he had the opportunity to work on a wide range of leading cases.
Matthew grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and received an Honours B.A. in English Literature and History from the University of Toronto. Before attending law school, he pursued his graduate studies at New York University receiving an M.A. in English and American literature.
